Benefits of Massage

Are you dealing with a disease, autoimmune, inflammation, daily stress/anxiety?

Would you like to Feel Deeply loved and connected with the Universal Energy and be an active participant in your healing treatment?

Think of massa
ge as a health tool, below is what I have come to believe. Not only is it for sore muscles and pains, but massage can also help with disease and stress. The air, food, and beverages (and thoughts) our bodies take in every moment are affecting our health.

From the fumes in the air, to plastics in our beverages, to GMOs now growing in our food; the body doesn’t recognize these atoms and treats them as foreign substances. The body goes into a “fight or flight” mode of sorts. Just like when faced with danger. We can’t, both, physically defend ourselves (fight or flight mode) and heal ourselves (process core functions) at the same time. Our energy goes to One or the Other.

The mind/body will send all energy to “Fight”, in order to find safety. Your energies get sent to the hands and feet and mind extremities. Heart rate goes up, and the chemical cortisol ramps up too. Now the foreign substances are trapped in the body, waiting for some energy to process them out. Next comes inflammation from them not getting moved out in a timely order. I’ve read, inflammation is one of the root causes of most autoimmune diseases. So….

Massage can help the body by relaxing, letting go of the fight/flight syndrome we are constantly under and refocus our energies back to the core, so it can heal the systems of our internal bodily functions. When relaxed and processing cleaner food, beverages and air; the body can send its energy to eliminating the foreign substances from the body, getting systems in better alignment.

One can’t help to breathe, eat and drink toxins in our current environment, nor avoid a fast-paced, hectic lifestyle – let massage relax you and help start the healing process.

When I give a massage, I quiet the mind and prepare to connect with the person on the table. Without words, but through touch, I wander the bone structure. Throughout the process, I may feel some pulsating in my palms or a vibration in the bones. I may feel a smile coming through or a cold spot. I may sense a color, or feel heat. As I connect deeper and deeper and sense my way through the massage, you become more and more relaxed.

Truly, the best part of the massage is when I am thinking of the person on the table as being in perfect health: body/mind/spirit, the soul shining in white glory. Holding this space for you, so you may connect to it, is the most important part of the massage for me. Providing a space for healing on multiple levels.

What to expect in a massage session.

The intent in this massage is to promote physical, emotional and spiritual healing. The massage is usually done with you lying on a massage table, undressed but covered by sheets. Your body is undraped one section at a time as I work. Keeping your underware on is best. I will leave the room as you undress and get on the table. I will rub massage cream or oil on your body during the massage. You may choose to wear casual, washable, clothes after the massage.

Please communicate your needs with me. For example, ask for; more or less pressure.. more or less work on a particular body part, a bathroom break, a drink of water, a change of music, more or less blankets/heat. Tell me of acute or chronic conditions. This massage should always feel good. ENJOY!!! ~taken in part from Barbara Helynn Heard http://www.lomilomi-massage.org/massage-lomilomi.html
